A series of employee-centered events in the town of Woodbine, Iowa.
Tommy Gate recently celebrated its 50th year of business operations with a series of events in Woodbine, Iowa. Those events included a company golf tournament, employee dinner (with dancing and fireworks), and a day-long, town-wide party which allowed locals to tour the Woodbine Manufacturing Company facility.
The golf tournament was held on Friday, June 5th at Shadow Valley Golf Course in Woodbine, Iowa. It consisted of two nine-hole shotguns and a wonderfully-prepared 6-hole putting course. More than 100 players participated and received numerous prizes. A great day all around.
The Tommy Gate 50th Anniversary Dinner had a live band, awards presentations, and fireworks. Company Owner and President, Lila Brown-Blandford, spoke about the company's hardworking men and women and attributed the business's longevity to the efforts made by everyone over the years.
On Saturday, June 6th, Tommy Gate hosted an all-day event and invited everyone from Woodbine, Iowa and the surrounding areas. Even with a slight rain, there was a tremendous turnout and families gathered for lunch, games, plant tours, and even a cake decorating contest.
All in all the celebrations were a huge success and a lot of fun.
Tommy Gate would like to thank everyone who came out to join the party and all of the hardworking men and women (and their wonderful families) who made it all possible. Here's to the next 50!
